Chapter 11

Gabriel

“Well I'm off,” she announced as soon as we walked into the hotel. What was wrong with her? It was like all of a sudden she was desperate to get away from me. She had grown more quiet, more distant, on our way back. We had gotten back to the hotel pretty quickly. I didn’t want Bree to have any more injuries, it was obvious that she suffered plenty as it was with the little feeds she was receiving from Drake. Now to learn that she was kept so low that her body was sort of un-healing was disturbing.

“You need more blood, come on.” Heading over to where Drake was sat at his desk exactly where we had left him just hours before, his eyes never leaving us as we approached. As she pushed her hair back behind her ear Drakes eyes flicked to her hand, “what’s wrong with your hand?”

“Punched a tree” she stated, as if it was nothing new, and probably wasn’t as far as I knew.

“Why am I not surprised,” rolling his eyes. “Get better control over yourself Bree.” he had a point there, she really did need to. I had been so shocked when she had hit that tree, never expected it. Couldn’t help but wonder though what had happened in her past to make her so anger all the time. Would she ever get over it?

“I need blood Drake, now.”

“Later.”

“No not later. Now,” pulling her jacket open to show him the scratch on her chest. But something else caught my eye, and Drakes too, something that had not been there before. Just below her breast I noticed that there was now a slight wet patch on her top, blood. Another old injury had opened up. What the hell had happened to her, how had she suffered an injury like that? I couldn’t see the wound but it was obviously a bad one. From what she had hinted before there were even worse ones, surely there could be no worse than that? She was amazing, beautiful. How could anyone hurt her? No wonder she had anger issues if she had been subjected to that kind of cruelty.

“Oh shit,” he yelled, running off through the door behind the desk. He soon returned carrying two large blood bags in his arm, quickly passing one over to Bree, which she began to drain instantly.

I watched in fascination as the scratch on her body vanished before my eyes leaving no sign of ever being there. Only the new injury on her hand remained. She had said the hand would take longer to heal than normal vampires wounds would but i was shocked that the others had healed so fast. There was something off, it made no sense. Why would the old ones heal but the new one not? Her hand really needed seeing to though, the cuts were full of dirt.

“Thanks” she said sounding a little breathless, placing the now empty bag on the table and holding her hand out for the other.
